One year ago this August, Whitestown welcomed Indiana’s first Maxxis distribution facility.
Maxxis International graces the world as one of its top ten tire manufacturers. From global to local impact, Indiana’s transportation infrastructure and Whitestown’s ideal location created a perfect partnership for a smooth ride. The Taiwan-based operation has flourished on American soil since 1985 with distribution centers in Rancho Cucamonga, California, Grapevine, Texas, and its corporate headquarters in Suwanee, Georgia. Their products and services include offering automotive, light truck, bicycle, motorcycle, and ATV tires as both original equipment and aftermarket products.
The company provides excellent products, and Boone County is honored to have Maxxis call this place home and confident in the partnership.
Maxxis International, USA President James Tzen believed it was #BetterinBoone from the beginning.
“Indiana was an appealing choice for our new facility due to this state’s excellent transportation infrastructure, friendly business environment, and proximity to major automakers,” said Tzen. “Whitestown is a rapidly growing area, with easy access to both major interstates and rail. This is an exciting time to locate a facility here, and we look forward to becoming a part of this community.”
Their operations are stationed in a facility that features more than 350,000 square feet of warehouse space, in addition to 10,000 square feet of office space and two 2,000 square foot administrative warehouse offices.
Molly Whitehead expressed her belief in the strength of this business.
“We were pleased to welcome Maxxis Tires to Whitestown, and they have proven to be a valuable asset to Boone County,” said Molly Whitehead, executive director of the Boone EDC. “We are excited about their economic impact, productive relationship, and growth-minded vision.”
It has been a successful ride with Maxxis, and we look forward to future companies who follow in their footsteps by making Boone County home.
