The Town of Thorntown was awarded a $7,000 grant through the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs. The grant will be used to install a new wastewater lagoon adjacent to the current lagoon increasing capacity by 33 percent. Additional project elements include installing 2,400 linear feet of piping to connect the lagoons, six control valves, two blowers, and diffusers, as well as building a new lagoon.
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) awarded Community Crossings grants to several Boone County municipalities. These matching funds are used for road improvement projects. The county received $498,400.00, the City of Lebanon received $839,577.75, and the Town of Whitestown received $999,423.00.
