Lebanon, Ind. – Megan Swain, the Director of Community Development for the Boone County Economic Development Corporation (Boone EDC), was recently accepted on the Placemaking Leadership Council.
According to their website, the Placemaking Leadership Council is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people create and sustain public spaces that build strong communities. They are the central hub of the global placemaking movement, connecting people to ideas, resources, expertise, and partners who see place as they key to addressing their greatest challenges.
“We are pleased that Megan was selected for this opportunity,” said Boone EDC Executive Director Molly Whitehead. “We believe that her collaboration with other leaders from around the world will help make Boone County a better place.”
“Placemaking creates public spaces for all residents to enjoy, and that is exactly why I am excited to be part of the council,” said Swain. “Being part of a community of doers who have created quality of place in their own communities will further assist my placemaking efforts in Boone County.”
The Placemaking Leadership Council was founded in 2013 and consists of more than 1,800 members in more than 80 countries.
