The Boone EDC is proud to announce our Childcare Initiative has received crucial matched funding to enhance childcare services in Boone County, Indiana. Thanks to generous contributions of $3,750 from the Community Foundation of Boone County, $1,375 each from Eli Lilly & Company and Witham Health Services, and $1,000 from Traditions Realty, we are making significant strides in improving childcare infrastructure, affordability, and professional development.

We are also thrilled to share that Boone EDC has engaged Transform Consulting Group to conduct a comprehensive childcare analysis for Boone County. With contracts executed and project work starting in June, this analysis will provide invaluable insights into the current state of childcare services, identify critical gaps, and offer strategic recommendations for sustainable and compassionate childcare solutions. This analysis will:

  • Identify Needs: Tailor solutions to the community’s specific childcare requirements.
  • Support Workforce: Provide reliable childcare options, reducing absenteeism and boosting productivity for working parents.
  • Boost Economic Development: Create a more attractive environment for businesses, encouraging investment and growth in Boone County.
  • Strengthen Community: Foster a supportive environment where families feel valued and supported.

Julie Reagan, Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Boone County, expressed her enthusiasm: “The Community Foundation of Boone County is thrilled to support the Boone EDC in addressing the critical need for improved quality childcare throughout our county. This partnership is a vital investment in our community’s future, ensuring our children receive the care and education they deserve while supporting local businesses to thrive.
